Twister
New rough sketch
Gerrymandering is certainly nothing new. Indeed, it's been happening in the U.S. for around 200 years. Having said that, most of the time (and in many states), districts are redrawn only after a U.S. Census is taken every decade.
But what's happening in Texas just feels different. It's clear that the president is pushing for his agenda and, indeed, says that the GOP is "entitled" to five more seats in Texas.
Riiiiiight....
Now having said that, other states are looking to counter. While I don't care for gerrymandering for political gain, I can't say I blame those other states.
The question is, where does it end?
Regarding this cartoon, I often try to find vehicles for my ideas that connect with you, the reader. Like, in a real world way, you know? Even if you haven't personally played Twister, you most certainly know about it. And in this cartoon, I'm clearly having fun exaggerating the "twisting." If I can't have a little fun in a cartoon, what's the point of drawing them?
Finished toon coming soon!
